Carton (JAP: カートン)This is a speed translation from rus vertion - a bit shorter than original version.
This review is for
http://sharprazorpalace.com/ and
http://valleymicroscope.com/Carton M126(loupe with base, wide field, 10x, focus, coated lens, 4 lens optic system, scale)
https://valleymicroscope.com/shop/m126/I've bought a version with inch scale because of discount ($65.00 vs $115.00).
Actually this scale is a cross type scale with inch gradation by one axis and metric by another.
In the kit comes a soft leather case made of leatherette with a synthetic fabric - rather dense and thick to the touch.
Not very neatly made (pair of cauterizing that touched fabric cover).
But the magnifier sits in it densely and there are no gap.
There is a cap not only for the eyepiece, but also for the end of the glass, where the scale is what is missing on the Peak 1983 (10x loupe with base, focusing).
Next I will compare the loupe with a
Peak 1983, because they are similar.
DesignFullmetal body (peak 1983: outer body case is plastic).
The loupe is a bit heavy.
Base and scale can be screwed out.
The eyepiece is bi wider - 22mm. (19.5-20mm. Peak 1983)
Anti-reflective effect is not particularly noticeable (peak 1983 is the same).
ScaleThe scale is pressed, nothing hanging - which is missing on Peak 1983.
Field of view25mm. (vs 32mm. peak 1983)
Distortion, CAI can't see any CA.
Distortion is stronger than Peak 1983 has.
till 6mm of radius(12mm. diameter) there is no distortion,
then from 6.5 to 7.5mm. there are smooth distortions,
and then - strong.
Peak 1983 has bigger radius without distortion + after it there are smooth distortions - strong only at the edges.
Sharpness Approximately at the same level or slightly higher.
Contrast is a bit better.
The eyes load a little less, despite the distortions is stronger.
A bit darker.
------
Magnifing power is a little more than the peak 1983 has.
Photo samples:1 div = 0.5mm.
Distortion, CA
Chromatic aberration is almost absent - barely noticeable.
Even when moving away from the center
Barrel distortion
The pillow starts a little earlier than the Peak 1983 10x, but its bulge is slightly less - for the eyes a little more pleasant.

Carton Flash loupe (LED) 10xhttps://valleymicroscope.com/shop/r7519/https://www.carton-opt.co.jp/EC/product ... duct_id=80https://www.carton-opt.co.jp/EC/product ... uct_id=514and something that looks similiar
https://valleymicroscope.com/shop/r7519/Orange arrow actually is a sticker - not painted as I supposed.
Build quality is normal.
Не без щелей, но сделано достаточно крепко и не скрипит.
Lens dia: 26mm.
Field of view: 32мм.
Duplet.
The loupe doesn't load eyes heavily - no troubles. Everything you could see easily.
CA: yellow and blue.
CA strength is less than Peak 1961 has.
Lens coating is noticeable by glare colorization.
Antireflection effect is not noticeable. But reflection strength is a bit weaker than Belomo 10x has.
Magnification power is less than Belomo 10x (that actually is 8,89x).
So it's approx about 8x.
Sharpness: good. Enought for sharpening process control.
The colors are shifted to magenta.
Brightness is normal. About the same level that Belomo 10x has.
LED is too bright for my eyes but one friend of mine says that it's good - it's kinda question of taste.
If you will use the loupe with distance between your eyes and loupe about 20cm. - brightness is ok.
A shroud under a diode sparks a little. But still normal.
So image quality(distortion, CA) is the same as peak 1961 (is a duplet too), but magnification is a bit bigger + sharpness a bit better.
But still inferior to the Belomo 10x triplet.
But it has wider field of view and LED.
I would like to have it with diffusor for LED and no CA.
What is interesting is that there is no manufacturer on the box.

Carton magnifying glasses with LED R7502I didn't order that - it's a gift. Nice
It's a glasses with a set of PMA lenses from 1.5 to 3.5x with LED backlight.
R7502
https://www.carton-opt.co.jp/EC/product ... duct_id=92https://valleymicroscope.com/shop/model-r7502/LED is bright enought. A bit blueish colorazation.
The angle of illumination is adjusted flexibly and can even be twisted around the fastening axis, and not just up and down.
And it can be removed and put a plug in its place.
3.5х is unusable for me: on the ruler with one eye I see the number 5 cm., with another - 6.
Magnification isn't enought for sharpening process control.
But bonocular vision - is a good thing.
And i think that bigger magnification for that glasses would heavily load eyes.
Loks like it would be useful for some kind of small work like carving, sewing, coloring.
The quality of the optics is good.
There is a distortion and CA -- bit hey are located on the edges and do not interfere.
Changing the lens is uncomfortable.
==============
For sharpening - I will refrain of using this tool, because it doesn't give soemthing that i can't see with naked eyes.
And i don't want to lower eye helth - it's better to keep in fit.
----
I gave it to a friend for testing. He was always wanted to try it.
So in a couple of months there will be a new opinion.

Carton M887, M889 - Failurehttps://valleymicroscope.com/shop/illum ... croscopes/M887 (30x)
and M889 (50x)
20 and 25 CAD (with 50% discount).
I make it shorter because this microscopes definitly don't worth time to describe fully.
Huge CA.
(!)Sharpness is bad. Optic is glass but it's even more soapy image than an acrylic chinese microscope for 5-10 USD has.
I cleaned the optics, but it did not help.
Definitly don't worth any money.
(!)(!)(!) 30x - front lens isn't fixed good and shakes and knoks even when you just moving microscope from one side to another.
But i've got a gift (magnifying glasses), so there is no reason for complaining.
I've waste about a coupe hour in trying to get something that would be worth to see.

Price with discount: 35CAD (vs 66)
Quality of assemblage, image - good.
LED is a bit blueish, but it's not critical. There is no big shifting of colours.
Focusing is good, no backlash, but i wish it was a bit more tight.
There is a light trail of puddles on the eyepeace.
Distorion level - normal. When you see it in real life it's less than it is on the photo sampless.
Field of view - is a bit less than 4.5mm.
Eyepeace is 7mm. in dia (not 10mm as mentioned at
valleymicroscope).
Sharpness, contrast, brightness - everything is good.
CA is low.
Quite good.
A bit darker than Микко 30x(
review [RUS]), but detailing of the image is closer to Peak 2008-50.
Still Peak 2008-50 (
review) is quite better (sharpness, brightness, contrast, CA) but it costs quite another amont of money.
Photo samplesSharpening stone: Grinderman C220VN

Distortion level is about the same as Микко 30x has + I did not get into the optical axis when I photographed
But sharpness is good.

Sharpness and contrast is nice.
